Templates!

Today your tasks are to finish your navbar (10 mins). and then create a template from your homepage. Templates are useful for creating "sub" pages on your website because the template LOCKS all the regions you don't want to change. For the regions that will change on the sub pages, you can create an "editable region" that will allow changes.
  • To create the template, open the homepage and tidy it up.
  • Next, click File >> Save as Template and complete the dialog box that pops up.
  • Now, add an "editable region" using Insert >> Editable region. (this is the only part of the page that can be edited when you create a NEW page from the template)
  • Save the template.
  • Create a new page from the template (name the page after one of your menu buttons, i.e., About Us, Contact Us, etc)
  • Click File >> New>> From Template >> choose the template, give the page a new name and click Save or OK.
  • Now customize the content of the new page for your site.
